About me
Linda is an independent consultant specialising in gambling, consumer and not-for-profit policy, regulation and practice.
She retired from the Queensland Public Service in 2017 and has extensive experience in senior executive roles providing legislative and strategic policy advice to Ministers and chief executives; evidence to parliamentary committees and inquiries. Linda has developed, advised and led major initiatives and reforms, including reviews of Queensland’s harm minimisation strategies and programs and development of a modern casino regulatory model to facilitate the development of the Queens Wharf Integrated Resort.
Linda also has extensive experience in operational regulatory roles, including licensing, gambling approvals (rules, control systems and products) and technical evaluations.
She was a long-standing member of Queensland’s Responsible (now Safer) Gambling Advisory Committee and Gambling Research Australia. Linda was also a member of the Commonwealth’s Expert Advisory Panel to the Australian Gambling Research Centre. She is a member of the National Association for Gambling Studies and the International Think Tank on Gambling Research, Policy and Practice.
In her consultancy work, Linda continues to contribute to gambling research and assists organisations to develop and implement impactful safer gambling policies and practices.
Linda holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws.
