About me
Christopher Hovius is Legal Director at the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, where he leads legal advisory services in relation to gaming law, liquor regulation, cannabis regulation, and horse racing. He was instrumental in creating and launching the regulated igaming market in Ontario, including in setting up its administrative and institutional design. Prior to his work at the AGCO, Chris led the Government of Alberta’s international, federal-provincial and trade law work and has prior experience in constitutional and aboriginal law.
Chris holds a J.D. from the University of Toronto and a Master’s in International Law from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID) in Geneva.
